Are You Subbing? Masters of the Universe Classics Club 200X On Sale Starting Today

The Mattycollector Club 200X subscription opens up for orders today. Like its predecessors, Club Filmation and Club Etheria, Club 200X is a six-figure subscription with a club-only exclusive – a $182 commitment over the second half of 2015. You can subscribe to Club 200X at Mattycollector with either a monthly or quarterly shipping option, which was instituted this year for Club Eternia to help reduce shipping costs.

So, are you in for Club 200X?

Toy Fair 2015: Mattel Masters of the Universe Classics [Update – Club 200X Announcement]

Toy Fair 2015 Mattel Masters of the Universe Classics (1 of 35)

It’s a bit difficult for me to get amped up for Masters of the Universe Classics. During the most recent subscription drive, the 2015 Club Eternia was heavily marketed as the last year for Four Horsemen figures – “Hey folks – this toy line has 12 months left to live…”

At the Mattycollector “nerd herd” this morning, at least the new guys brought in to manage the collector lines didn’t hit us with that downer. They also didn’t say a lot about what’s coming in the line. I guess that’s what these pictures are for.

Spirit of Grayskull Chase Debuts at Early Access for Mattycollector February Sale

Mattycollector February Sale

Looks like just one item will be up for Early Access for Mattycollector’s February sale (opening tomorrow at 8AM PST) – the glow-in-the-dark Masters of the Universe Classics Spirit of Grayskull. The quarterly 2-pack and Ninja Warrior join the sale during All Access on Monday.

I’m looking forward to Ninjor, but I switched to the quarterly plan this year, so I’ll be waiting until March for him and the Snake-themed pair.

Lonely Lizard Man Makes for a Bleak Mattycollector January Sale

Mattycollector Sale January 2015

November and December were blowout months of a sort at Mattycollector, with DC Universe Classics going on closeout and the final figures, Doomsday and Damien Wayne Robin going on sale. In comparison, this month looks drastically different, with a single new figure up for grabs.

Masters of the Universe Classics fans may get a kick out of Lizard Man, who probably would have ended up in a Club Filmation sub if that had continued. But not even consolation prize Extendar can bring this month’s sale out of the post-holiday funk. Early Access opens tomorrow at 8AM PST, and All Access for January opens up at 9AM PST on Friday.

DC Universe Classics on Clearance at Mattycollector’s 7 Days of Cyber Monday

Mattycollector’s “7 Days of Cyber Monday” sale kicked off this morning with Early Access for Club Eternia subscribers. I still find the name odd (at least the sale actually lasts 7 days this year) but am crystal clear on its intent – Mattel wants to clear out its remaining DC Universe Classics figures inventory. Club Infinite Earths figures are priced at $6 each for the regular figures (like Wally West Flash, Phantom Stranger, and Larfleeze) and $9 for the oversized ones (like Lead and Elasti-Girl). I guess good things come to those who wait.

The Classics figures for this year (Connor Kent, Ice, and hook-handed Aquaman) aren’t clearanced – they’re at $23. But Watchmen figures have been knocked down to $15 each from $20 and the horribly over-priced Super Powers figures are at $24 from $30. If you were hoping to get the Doomsday Unleashed figure at 20% off, you’re out of luck – to get him at $32 you had to also buy the prison costumed version from SDCC, and he sold out early on this morning. The unleashed Doomsday is still available as of this writing, but at the full $40 price.

Rounding out the sale, Masters of the Universe Classics from Club Eternia and Club Etheria prior to 2014 have been knocked down to $21.60 from $27. And Ghostbuster 2-packs with the removable proton packs are down to $40 from $50. Finally, Loo-Kee and Kowl, the Club Eternia chase figures, are up – still at $20.

All access to the 7 Days of Cyber Monday sale starts tomorrow at 9AM PST.
