Ashley Woods of 3A Toys has some nice words and a few sneak peeks at the start of the New Year for the folks who are collecting their toys. I’m very psyched for the WWRp Noir de Plumes that look to be coming soon.
The Four Horsemen have completed another round of Scary Shots, so it’s time for another recap – this time they’ve revealed how each variant is going to be laid out in the blisters.
It’s very cool that every variant is going to include a Scarabus head, and Scarabus himself will get two variant face plates.
Scarabus
Demonic Scarabus
Dormant Scarabus
Anubos
Azazel
Haures
Horos
Melchom
Nergall
Thothos
These are the Photoshopped images that we sent off to the factory, to give them an idea of just how we wanted the blisters laid out. Now you get to see them and also get to find out just which face-plates/heads go with which variant versions of Scarabus!
As we kick off the new year, I asked the guys to make their picks for for best [insert anything toy-related] for 2010. I wasn’t sure, since we just picked our “most thankful for” figures a few weeks ago at Thanksgiving, if we’d have much to add. Turns out there was plenty that impressed us above and beyond our Thanksgiving picks.
I’ll get us started.
Ron’s pick – Hasbro Iron Man 2 – Iron Monger
I don’t want to get typecast, because I picked the Marvel Legends Iron Man as one of Fwoosh’s Best of 2009. But this year, I think that the Iron Man 2 line from Hasbro, in particular the Comic series, went a long way in winning over fans who were missing their 6-inch Legends to the 4-inch scale.
The line has some really great sculpts, decent enough paint apps, and some fantastic articulation at that size. And, of course, it brought us this awesome Iron Monger – the huge, classic, comic-based blue version that I never thought we’d get, since the movie-based Iron Monger lined shelves for a while.
Bill has shared part three of his latest Action Figure Comic, ML vs DCUC Crossover, with us. Be sure to check out part one and part two, and more of his comics at Bill’s Comics.
I’m assuming that this is labeled the “standard” head, that there’ll be some variants, and that they’ll be packed randomly since they’re packaged separately from the TKs. We’ll see!
