Sideshow Avatar AMP Maquette Unboxing Video

Sorry, that isn’t an actual player displayed below – you’ll have to click through to see the AMP Suit Maquette unboxing. When I watched it, I was so impressed I had to post about it here. This thing is massive – 21 x 19 x 19 inches – with an insane amount of detailing.

As cool as this is, I don’t have the $1,199.99, not to mention the addition on our house I’d have to build to display this monster. If you do, head over to Sideshow to buy the Avatar AMP Suit Maquette.

Out of the Box – Avatar AMP Suit Maquette

Launching the Sideshow Collectibles line of AVATAR collectibles is the AMP Suit Maquette, created in conjunction with one of the film’s special effects studios, Legacy Effects. Created directly from 3D modeled by the team that created the 14-foot suit used during filming, the AMP Suit is a truly authentic scaled representation. Each piece is individually painted and finished, each with its own unique quality and detail that is the trademark of a handcrafted Sideshow Collectibles product. The AMP Suite Maquette is comprised of polystone, cloth, resin, fiberglass, metal, ABS and PVC plastics and is the perfect addition to any display.

More Square Enix Play Arts Kai Halo Reach Figures Available for Pre-Order

The more I see of these Halo Reach figures from Square Enix, the harder it will be to not start buying them. I know if I take the plunge I’ll have to buy them all.

The first three figures, Noble Six, Emile, and Jun, went on pre-sale about two months ago. Now Carter, Jorge, and Kat are available to pre-order for about $50 each from Sideshow. These should be available before the end of the year.

Check out more pictures from our NYCC coverage of Square Enix.

Hot Toys Platoon Chris Taylor and Enter the Dragon Bruce Lee Available for Pre-Order at Sideshow Toys

Sideshow Collectibles has a couple of the upcoming Hot Toys figures available for pre-order – Chris Taylor, Charlie Sheen’s character in Platoon, and Bruce Lee from Enter the Dragon. I might spring for the Sideshow exclusive version of Bruce Lee, since it comes with an extra body and stand for just $20 more. It’s a DX, so with the extra body, you can have two complete figures since there’s the extra head, many sets of hands, and multiple outfits included already.

Sideshow Shrine of Dagon Action Figure Environment

Shrine of Dagon (1200x1199).jpg

At a list price of $89.99, the Shrine of Dagon Action Figure Environment is not the kind of accessory that I’d normally buy – after all, it costs quite a bit more than the usual action figures that I’d choose to display with it. But after a visit to the Sideshow booth at San Diego Comic-Con, I found myself with a gift card (they hand them out cards with random amounts on them) worth $75.

I’d been looking for something like this ever since Sandman and MattK started raising the bar on their photo sets with intricate set pieces that make my plain background pictures look pretty dull. So for $15, this was a complete steal.
