San Diego Comic-Con 2010 Most Wanted – Sandman

The 2010 San Diego Comic-Con is one day away and we’re writing down the things we are looking forward to the most! If you’ve never been to Comic-Con, I have to say it is one of the craziest places to be if you’re a fan of comic books, movies, television and most important to us: TOYS!

In this “Super Bowl” of geekdom, we get a lot of first peeks at various companies’ future toy releases. Here’s what I’m looking forward to seeing!

Masters of the Universe Classics (Mattel)

We got a lot of good stuff from this line this year. Last year Battle Cat was the star of the Con for me, as was seeing Teela and Trapjaw. This year they are supposed to show the same amount of figures they showed last year and I can’t wait to see what they have in store for us! I’m hoping to see Man-E-Faces, Panthor, Mantenna and maybe some vehicles!!

NECA Predators Press Pics

A little over a month ago, NECA published a teaser pic for their line of action figures for the upcoming Predators movie. Now they’ve revealed the first shots of the three Predators. They’re three… ugly motherf*ckers!

Still Ugly After All These Years

New Predators revealed!

In honor of Predators hitting theaters this Friday, July 9, we’re thrilled to show off our all-new Predator figures!

That’s right, no more living in the shadows. The most fearsome hunters in the galaxy have returned, and this time, we’re on their turf. In Predators, some of Earth’s most able killers are kidnapped and brought to the Predator homeworld for some good old-fashioned hunting. It’s the first Predator-only movie since 1990’s Predator 2, named in the fashion of the Aliens series and starring Adrien Brody and Laurence Fishburne, among others.

But we all know the real stars are the Predators themselves, and it’s them we’ve honored in our line of figures from the movie. In the series of three, you get the brand new Falconer Predator, the menacing Berserker Predator, and of course, the original, Classic Predator! Each figure comes with unique weaponry, amazing detail and stands almost 8″ tall.

Predators is in theaters this Friday, July 9. Our Predators line will be in stores later this month and will also be featured on our Amazon storefront.

Heroclix Web of Spider-Man Preview of Carnage and Cardiac

I’ve just got an excerpt from WizKid’s preview of two of the figures from the upcoming Heroclix Web of Spider-Man set that was announced back in late April – Carnage and Cardiac. But you should really check out the full article, especially if you’re interested in the product planning that goes into producing a set of figures like this.

Today, I have two sneak peaks of figs for you to look at, one from each category.  First up, I have a “need.”  If you’re going to do a Spider-Man set, you got to have representatives on the Symbiote front.  Fans have been bugging (okay, asking) me for a new Carnage since I began working on Clix years ago.  Web of Spider-Man includes a powerhouse version of Cletus Kasady that is sure to guarantee “maximum carnage.”  Equipped with a vicious Special “Symbiote Blade,” Carnage is a worthy adversary.  Next up on my preview board is another fan-demanded piece that conveniently happens to be from the Spider-verse.

Wow, that sculpt is a real shocker!  All bad puns aside, what a breath-taking sculpt and paint for this awesome frie-nemy of Spider-Man.  While Carnage is a top-line Spider enemy with a couple of major cross-over stories under his belt, Cardiac has a slightly longer and more nuanced relationship with our favorite webhead.  He’s a perfect example of the supporting cast that makes Spider-Man’s world so rich and interesting. I can’t wait to show you more figs from the set, and in my next article, we’ll get into one of the meaty mechanics that makes Web truly innovative.
